“Art is not painting what you see, but what you make others see.” Edward Degas
I've worked hard to nurture my talent by going to art school and spending many hours in the studio. I love nature and often hike or garden. My time growing up on the prairie has made me look closely at light and shadow and their effects with the changing seasons.
I love working in oils. The colors are rich, vibrant, and transparent. The extra drying time works well in my paintings, allowing more time for blending and adding detail.
In order to leave a legacy for future generations, I am driven to preserve the beauty around me by bringing to light what an amazing, fragile world we have. Many artist have inspired me, including O'Keefe, Van Gogh, and Cezanne.
